We got up early this morning to catch the women's marathon olympic trials. I know you probably wonder how a 26.2 mile race can at all be exciting, but this one was. Magdalena Lewy Boulet led the entire race by over a minute up until mile 23.5. Deena Kastor, Bronze medalist at the Athens Olympics made up the one minute difference between her and Magdalena in just three and a half short miles between mile 20 and mile 23! Deena ran to an easy victory which is amazing! She also ran down past us in the crowd with the American flag draped around her! The top 3 from today's race get to compete in the Bejing Olympics!!
We also had to go to the Expo to pickup our race numbers and chips. I am getting a little nervous now, but a part of that nervousness is excitement! Tomorrow, we have to catch a bus at 6:45am, and then we are dropped off 26.2 miles west of boston in Hopkinton! Race starts at 10am! Try tracking me at www.bostonmarathon.com and searching by "Sangar."
Alright, off to eat some pasta and get my last dose of carbohydrates! Thanks for cheering me on!

headin'.to.baaston!
(so I hear that's how people there say "Boston"). Anyways, I am getting ready to head out! I am so excited. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post photos from the Boston Marathon Expo and the US Women's Marathon Olympic Trials. Yes, the trials take place tomorrow in Boston, so we'll get to watch that! The marathon is on Monday morning, and my wave starts at 10am ET. If you are so inclined to tune in and track my run, you can just go to www.bostonmarathon.com, and track me every 5K by searching my last name "Sangar." If that doesn't work, my bib number is 11026. My hero, Lance Armstrong, is also running the marathon, so you can bet that I'll probably be more concerned before the race to hunt him down and take pictures of him instead of doing what disciplined runners will be doing; which is stretch, jog, keep legs elevated, listen to music, etc:) I LOVE Lance. He will most definitely kick my booty in the race, but you should also try tracking him on the course. Since he's a celebrity and all, he may be running under some pseudo last name so people like me and you don't stalk him...but maybe he really will be running under "Armstrong." It's worth a shot to try and find him on the website! Alright, more later! Wish me luck...I'll need it!
I'm gonna miss peyton!
(my reaction after having JUST been licked across the face:)!!

spring.has.sprung!
I had a fun shoot tonight with the Homan family! This was my first shoot at the IMA this year! It was good to be back:) Before Jenny, Andy and the kids arrived, I took a few shots that reminded me why I love this place. It's full of color, it's beautiful, it's clean, it's bright, it's peaceful, it's perfect.
Checkout the cardinal I spotted!

the.duros.crew!
Sorry for the tease earlier! I couldn't stay awake any longer last night, but I wanted to share a photo with you that I was really excited about. I had had this idea for a long time of wanting to shoot in an old alleyway. I really love looking at fashion magazines mainly for looking at the photos and ads, and studying the locations that are chosen and the lighting that is used. Most high fashion shoots take place in a really ironic setting. In fact, remember my photos from the Vegas Neon Sign Museum? Well, although it is basically a junkyard full of old broken Vegas signs, a lot of fashion shoots take place there! That is what inspired this location below. I am so happy that Allen & Erin trusted me and went along with my idea!
Meet the Duros kids. This is one of my all-time faves:)
the oldest, Halle...
the middle child, grant...
and the baby of the family, jenna...
I expect Allen to LOVE this photo and to HATE this photo. How could he not love how beautiful his little girl looks? But I fully expect the protective dad side to come out as well. She looks WAY older than she is here:) Not to mention it was super windy yesterday and her hair looks so cool blowing around like this:
The kids LOVED their rainboots!
Jenna is so adorable!
I love this. I was like "Halle & Grant. Stand over there and let me take your picture together." Without any further instructions, they chose this pose all on their own! Either they really love each other, or they get their picture taken a lot! (Maybe a little of both)!
Jenna's hair is the best
Also one of my new faves:)
Boys will be boys...
Grant looks so cute here with his little bug catcher
So manly...
It got a little chilly in the alley, so we stepped into the sun for a few shots!
Thanks for meeting me downtown guys and trusting me on this one! Your kids are the cutest! Enjoy...

exciting.things.coming.up!
Thank you all for always checking my blog for updates! I think it is so awesome when I meet a potential bride or a new family, and they already know a lot about me or about my clients because they check my blog. I'll meet complete strangers and they'll say, "your two nieces are so adorable!" (Yeah, I blog about them a lot, but it's fun and I know people enjoy the updates). That's what it's for!
I am always checking my stats to see how many visitors I am getting each day and the numbers have steadily been increasing:) I've been using "blogger" as my blog platform, but there are some limitations that I find annoying. It gets the job done, but I would LOVE to be able to post larger photos, I would love to have an environment that is more conducive to commenting, I would love to make it a little more dynamic in terms of having some parts of my blog animate, I would love to do so much more with it! Soooooo......
I'M HAVING A CUSTOM BLOG DESIGNED FOR ME!
I've been keeping it a secret for a little while since I'm on a waiting list, but we all have something to look forward to in August! I have hired some very talented designers and programmers to make something that is unique to me, but because they are so good at what they do, I have to wait until August for them to start on it! So, hang with me on this current blog because good things are ahead!
Another thing that I am so excited about is that an extremely talented and successful artist is creating a completely new brand identity for me! I have always loved her work, and a new logo on top of the new blog should really be something unique! I haven't seen any of Penny's logo concepts yet, but I already know that they will be great. I promise to share that with you even sooner than August! You have to check out her work. Penny is amazing. Listen to her client list: Target (yea, what a bada**. She has designed 2 Target gift cards), United Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, NY Times, Runner's World and many many more.
So, sorry no fun pictures with this post. BUT, at least you got something to look forward to!!
