I have a new hobby. I have always liked pointing out cool, old, retro, vintage signs, but never did it occur to me that I should take photos of all of the awesome signs I come across, and collect them in one place. I know of a few around Indy that I now plan on going back to and shooting, but I got a HUGE start in Vegas. Yesterday, I booked a tour for Simon & I, and it was my second favorite thing in Vegas (coming in at a close second place to the Beatles LOVE show that we saw our first night in Vegas). It was a tour that I booked through the Neon Sign Museum, which is a non-for-profit organization that tries to collect any and all of the old Vegas signs after they're phased out. They truly are pieces of art--especially the old signage that used to decorate the Vegas Strip. Most are actually hand painted, and some still have original bulbs in place. It was such a cool thing to see. Any of you heading to Vegas in the near future should call and book a tour! I had tough time narrowing down my favorites, so here they are...
