detour | calico.ghost.town!

During our drive from Laguna Beach to Vegas on Sunday, we made a spontaneous decision to pull off the highway in the middle of the desert to see a ghost town. We saw a sign for it about a mile from the exit, so we were like, "what the heck!" I am so glad that we stopped. They had rehabbed an old mining area. Even though some of the new parts were cheesy, the old original stuff was WAY cool. Not to mention the view was killer. We really were out in the middle of nowhere. I think our total stop was about an hour. That hour consisted of trying to take some cool shots. Hope you like! (and as a reminder, you can click on the images to make them larger!)

Yours truly, looking almost as big as the mountain behind me!

Beauty shot! Yes, the sky was really that blue...no photoshop here!

I loved the look of this old doorknob.

Not sure what this is. I just LOVED the detail in this logo.

This wasn't a joke. This really was the site of an old mine.

Simon didn't know I was taking photos of him. I love the way this one turned out!
