bday bash

Alight, I am horrible. Miss Claire turned 1 year old on June 27th and I am just now posting her bday bash pics. I can't believe it has taken me this long. The theme was Strawberry Shortcake, which just cracks me up because Jess and I loved Strawberry Shortcake when WE were little. Claire totally dug the fact that she got her OWN cake to tear into. You'll see she managed to make quite a mess. As for the gifts, well, all I can say is that the kid doesn't need anything else! She got a ton of toys, a doll, a shopping cart, a custom Coach Carey Raiders Cross Country outfit, books, beach toys, shoes, cell phones, clothes and lots lots more. Simon and I decided to get her a turquoise Care Bear. I had so much fun shopping in the Target toy section. It's been so long since I looked down those aisles, and my favorite part is seeing the things that I loved as a little kid make a comeback! (That's why I had to get Claire the Care Bear:) Aunt Cathy couldn't make the party since she lives in Florida and was coming to Indiana for our Pound the Pavement race a month after the party, but Cat was on the phone when we were singing happy birthday to Claire. In the pictures, Claire is wearing the bday shirt that Cathy sent her. No folks, it was not planned that Claire had a strawberry on her shirt. It was total coincidence that Cathy picked that out and mailed it to her! Enjoy...and more photos to come this weekend!
