claire's.new.pad!

Jess, Brian, Claire & bun-in-the-oven-Lyza have been busily moving things into their new house. Jess had plans for all of the rooms except for Claire's. She couldn't think of anything to do as far as colors, decorations, bedding, etc were concerned. So, she has allowed ME to pick out things for Miss Claire's new pad (she said that she had to give final approval, however, before I made any purchases). The room is far from finished, but last weekend I made the long journey up to Illinois to visit my FAVORITE store, Ikea. The closest Ikea to Indianapolis is all the way up in Bolingbrook, Illinois, so there was no choice but to hop in the car and go. Yes, it may sound silly that I had to travel that far for some bedroom stuff, but if you haven't ever been to Ikea, you wouldn't understand. Ikea is THE BEST place to buy fun, funky, colorful, unique CHEAP, home furnishings. The reason it's so cheap is everything you buy has to be assembled, and there aren't many people available to help you as you're shopping in the giant two story store (low overhead--high inventory). BUT, if you have saved your money, and you've driven the largest vehicle at your access in order to pack everything you buy, then you will love Ikea. I showed Jess what I was going to buy on their website, and with her approval I bought everything. Even though I got caught in a massive traffic jam on my way home and my trip took 5.5hrs instead of the usual 3.5hrs, it was all worth it when Miss Claire saw everything and got so excited! Her favorites things are the table and stools that I bought. Her little legs are too short to touch the floor while sitting in them, but she feels so big and important in them! Jess and I are thinking of painting the room aqua with some red and/or pink accents. Don't you love it so far?! Let us know what you think!

Claire checking out her new clothes hamper (the hamper is a turtle!)

She's really giving it a thorough examining:)

And yes, she's always willing to help. Here, I'm not sure what she's planning on doing with the screwdriver, but she felt it was important to show me:)

This is her new duvet cover for her bed. Isn't it so cute?! She also has one in the same color scheme that has numbers all over it so Claire can change up the look of her room when she feels like it.

REALLY examining it:)
